Experience and Track Record
Emma is well known across the housing and construction sectors for delivering high-quality, efficient services to clients. With over 20 years of experience in housing development, she has built a strong track record working alongside Housing Associations, Developers and a wide range of stakeholders.
As a Chartered Surveyor, Emma has successfully led projects of all scales – from single homes to large-scale regeneration schemes. While experienced in delivering developments across all tenures, she has particular expertise in affordable housing and an expanding portfolio in the emerging Build to Rent sector.
At a strategic level, Emma supports clients in shaping business plans and development strategies, as well as advising on design standards, development policies, and procedures. She is known for her problem-solving approach, offering fresh perspectives and practical solutions that streamline processes and deliver results efficiently.
Emma holds a MA (Hons) in Politics and Economics from University of Dundee and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS). In addition, she holds and ILM Level 5 qualification in Coaching and Mentoring.

Energetic and enthusiastic about the housing sector, Emma has spent her career dedicated to delivering new homes, driven by the belief that everyone deserves a high-quality home they can afford.
Based in Kelso, with experience and reach across Scotland, Emma’s flexible approach ensures clients receive the support they need, where and when they need it. She established EGC almost 10 years ago, consistently delivering services to a wide range of clients. During this time, she also served as Director of Development at SBHA, where she established the Development Directorate and built a strong development programme.
Emma is committed to community and social impact. She is a Board Member of Bield Housing and Care and a former Chairperson of Borders Women’s Aid, reflecting her dedication to supporting people to live safely and thrive. She is also a regional walk leader with Everybody Outdoors, creating safe, supported walks for people who might otherwise feel marginalised.
When not working, Emma enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time in nature – usually accompanied by her Greyhound, Jim.
